In the mid 1970s Ken founded the Special Investigation Unit for the Saskatchewan Department of Natural Resources. He supervised the Problem Wildlife and Poison Programs and was well known as a teacher and mentor to RCMP and fish and wildlife recruits. He was also a Police Service Dog and Bear Dog Handler.
After his career in law enforcement, Ken served for more than 25 years as a Senior Surface Landman in the oil & gas industry, specializing in Aboriginal Affairs and Trapper Consultation.
A native of Saskatchewan, Ken served as Physical Training Instructor for the Royal Canadian Navy based in Esquimalt in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He also taught phys ed for a time in his home town of Wadena, Saskatchewan.
